Polygon Cafe

The purpose of this design was to highlight my skill set and design style. This was one of my final projects as a student and the most independant. Design freedom was given with this task so I challenged myself by only working with straight lines, ultimately polygons. (created: Winter 2015)

OSU Student Health Center

The purpose of this design was to renovate Oregon State Universities outdated Student Health Services (SHS) facility. My main focus was making a more efficient use of the space, user-centered design, sustainable design, and universal design. I thoroughly enjoyed designing this project because I finally gained the opportunity to step outside my small residential "box" and into the world of commercial, more specifically healthcare design. Enchanted Makeovers: Kitchen Remodel

The purpose of this design was to create a space where multiple single mothers and their children could support each other, feel at home and reivent themselves while recovering from abuse. I acheived this by creating a durable, affordable and sustainable plan that would provide every need required. I learned how to use Revit with this project which increased my quantity of skills. 500 sq. ft. Home

This has been my most challenging project so far has definitely been this one. I was assigned to keep the floorplan under 500 sq. ft. so I was forced to get very creative. I chose a spiral staircase because it takes up less space. Interior perspective drawings were created of the kitchen and great room using a black pen. Particular attention was placed on furniture, conceptual design, lighting, and spatial awareness. (created: January 2013)

Humphreys Dream Home

For the Humphrey assignment, straight edges and architectural rulers were not allowed in order to show how my design process works. Bubble diagrams were the first step in the design process for the Humprey residence. Organizing social, work, and private areas by their adjacencies to one another helped create a successful floor plan. After completing the floorplan, I expanded my ideas by drawing specific rooms that showed the clarity of the design.
